Freshman Advice
My number one tip for any freshman is…. to make sure your school work is your number one priority.
That’s what your at school to work and learn. So that’s #1. You should acquire good study habits and try your very hardest. (Trust me it pays off)
My second tip would be to surround yourself with good people who support you.
There’s a saying about the people you hang with reflecting you greatly and that’s totally true. So if you wanna do good then surround yourself with those who do good…. simple right?
My third tip would be GET ENOUGH SLEEP.
I wish this was a tip someone would have given me… I don’t think I’ve slept the same since my freshman year of high school. You're going to need sleep. Try to finish homework early and end your night without your phone (nearly impossible I know) your body will fall asleep faster if it doesn’t have to try to focus on three thousand things on a screen.
Another tip that’s important is that one bad test grade doesn’t end your life.
There’s time to make up for a bad test grade it’s not good to worry about it long. Just as long as you put in an effort for the next grade then you should be just fine.
For my final tip, it would be to not focus on relationships mainly.
A relationship is not the most important thing to focus on when you first arrive I know it’s exciting and all, because of your new and their different options but that’s definitely not the most important thing. I’ve seen a lot of freshman advice videos and everybody is always saying “that senior doesn’t love you”. To tell you the truth it’s your life your decision do what makes you happy.
All in all, have fun and do your very best, you should be just fine and if you're a freshman this year I have a few parting words, “Good luck Charlie”.
